Big Cottonwood Regional Park Master Plan

This park is composed of four areas comprising of 185 acres. (See map) Each area is unique and offers a wide range of park amenities and park experiences. To facilitate management and discussion the park has been broken into 4 sub areas. They are:

  • Hillview Basin Area - 25.3 acres
  • Cottonwood Complex Area - 47.6 acres
  • Holladay Lions Area - 85.2 acres
  • Creekside Area - 27.5 acres

Because of its size and regional appeal the park has had many requests for additional amenities. The master planning process will help the County identify and plan for the future. To do this, we need to know what the community envisions for their regional park.

Advisory Committee

An advisory committee has been put together representing the many different uses in the park. They include community representatives, equestrian interests, sports interests, senior interests, environmental interests, the City of Holladay, the City of South Salt Lake, County Flood Control, and Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation. This group will be meeting over the next 5 months to review input from the public meetings and advise Salt Lake County and it's consultant as the master plan develops.
