Salt Lake County is in the process of master planning the facilities in the East Millcreek area. The County is looking at ways to accommodate the growing and changing needs of the community. NEW CHANGES East Millcreek Recreation Center Patrons, As most of you have heard by now, East Millcreek Recreation Center is going to be torn down and a beautiful new facility will be going back up at the same location. As a result of this development, we will be moving most of our programming to a new location, the Millcreek Activity Center located at 4405 South 1025 East. The move will be SEPTEMBER 14, 2009. The Millcreek Activity Center will be the new home of our childcare program. We will also continue to administrate all of our youth sports programs out of the Millcreek Activity Center. Please make payments for any of our programs at the new location beginning SEPTEMBER 14, 2009. You will still have the option of signing up online as well. www.recreation.slco.org/eastmillcreek The East Millcreek Recreation Center Gymnasium will continue to be used for our adult basketball program on Monday through Thursday nights SEPTEMBER 14 through October 15, 2009. Because of this, we will be able to open our Fitness Room for the following hours SEPTEMBER 14 through October 15, 2009: Monday 10:30 am - 12:30 pm and 5:30pm – 9:00pm Tuesday 10:30 am - 12:30 pm and 5:30pm – 9:00pm Wednesday 10:30 am - 12:30 pm and 5:30pm – 9:00pm Thursday 10:30 am - 12:30 pm and 5:30pm – 9:00pm *These will be the only available times for Fitness Room* Unfortunately, the new Millcreek Activity Center does not have a Gymnasium or Fitness Room. We are sad to see the existing facility go down, but are excited about the reality of a new, state of the art facility being built in its place. We look forward to continuing to serve all residents of the Millcreek area out of the East Millcreek Recreation Center until SEPTEMBER 14 and at Holladay Lions Fitness and Recreation Center and the new Millcreek Activity Center after that date. Thank You, East Millcreek Recreation Center Staff That's right. In preparation for the new community center, we will be relocating to the Millcreek Activity Center...4405 South 1025 East. It is the former site of Hill View Elementary School. The school has been torn down, except for one wing, which has been renovated. We are very excited about our new location for Child Care. There are 5 classrooms and a meeting room and a fenced playground and so much more room for Child Care. Besides Child Care, many of our other programs will be run out of the Millcreek Activity Center. In fact all of our classes will be moving with us. We will be moving in September.
