Lifeguard Training Courses

Red Cross Lifeguarding Classes

 

 September 28- October 19

  • Classes will be held Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5:00pm- 9:00pm. 
  • There will not be class on Oct. 1 due to the UEA weekend.
  • Course includes CPR for the professional rescuer, AED, first aid, and lifeguarding.

 

Participants need to attend every class session in order to pass. Make-ups days will not be accepted.

Cost:

  • $10.00 non-refundable deposit to save spot
  • $155.00 w/o county contract
  • $55.00 w/ county contract
  • Cost of the course includes instruction, certifications (if earned), textbook, and resuscitation mask

Certification: The certification process consists of two different parts;

  1. Three multiple choice tests
  2. A final CPR practical exam
    and three final in-water skills tests.

To receive certification, students must pass the multiple choice tests with 80% or higher and must pass the practical tests with 100%.

 


* Dimple Dell Fitness and Recreation Center hires only lifeguards that are 16 or older, but we do certify those 15 and older.
