Dimple Dell is "Fun For The Whole Family" On Friday April 11 our UV system is being installed. It will be up and running by that afternoon, keeping the pool water nice and clean. The new systems work by passing water through a chamber containing ultraviolet light bulbs, which sterilizes bacteria and parasites. Every 6 hours, all of the water in the pool gets turned over and passes through the pipe with the UV lights, where all of the organisms in the water are killed. "The ultraviolet light bakes any bacteria or parasites that are in the water, instantly killing them, and then the water is put back into the pool," explained Martin Jensen, spokesman for Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation. "These have been found to be 99 percent effective in treating recreational water illnesses such as cryptosporidium, giardia, E. coli." Positions available are youth sports officials, day camp counselors, lifeguards, swim teachers, concession workers, and front desk staff for Dimple Dell and the Draper Outdoor Pool. Apply at Dimple Dell Fitness and Recreation Center. Must be 16 or older for the lifeguard, swim teacher, concessions, and front desk positions. Registration has begun for all of our fun summer programs including Supersport, Superseekers, Aquasport, and Arts and Games in the Park. Our UV System is Here!
